Deutsche in Menschengestalt

Leserbrief von Brigitta Edelman aus Durham im “Guardian”, 15. Mai 2010:

>>Like the Germans, the Swedes were also severely inflicted by what they call titelsjuka (title disease), until the 1960s, when the nation almost overnight reformed the way they address each other. Everyone suddenly scrapped all titles, and started to use first names and the familiar “du” form. I wonder whether this change might coincide with the time the Norwegians started to call the Swedes “Germans in human shape”?<<
