Asuncion, riverside

November 17th, 2014

Last year, some 50,000 people were forcefully relocated from here so that the government got a better view on the river and the city gained this new water front. The remaining 20,000 inhabitants of the shanty town (Barrio Ricardo Brugada, commonly known Chacarita) will have to go soon, as well, so there’s nothing done about their places being flooded and infested by dengue mosquitos.
